Rural Health Transformation Program
The Rural Health Transformation Program is a $50 billion federal initiative running from 2026 through 2030 to strengthen rural health systems, including Critical Access Hospitals. Funding is performance based, with first year awards averaging $200 million per state, creating a significant opportunity for prepared organizations. As states define priorities and performance metrics, early engagement allows rural hospitals to align strategically, improve access to care, increase operational efficiency, and strengthen long term financial sustainability.
